On January 27th, 1984, on the set of a Pepsi commercial starring Michael Jackson, a premature pyrotechnic blast ignited the pop star’s hair, nearly killing him. Until now, the general public had only heard eyewitness accounts of the event, but had never actually seen any footage. Watching it now, you understand how serious it really was, but I gotta tell ya, this whole fiasco inspired quite a few school yard jokes back in the 80’s.

Let other French designers remove their shows to the Paris suburbs-Karl Lagerfeld will not retreat. As ever, Chanel's spectacle took place at the Grand Palais. Trading in last season's life-size rendering of the house's Rue Cambon headquarters, Lagerfeld reimagined the black and white interior of a Chanel boutique (in this case, filled with the world's most important customers), complete with a hidden doorway from which he fabulously emerged to take his bow.

Chanel Cruise 2010 ~ Venice, CA

Chanel Cruise 2010 was at the Grand Hotel Excelsior Lido Resort in Venice, CA. They used the boardwalk as the cat walk and lined the front row seating with deck chairs. Give-aways were a Chanel beach towel. Gosh, I wish I was there. So close by too! The line looks so charming... *sigh... Karl Lagerfeld definitely knows how to do it up correct and in full effect!
